SIGMA startup review – the Pitch candidates

Go back

The Startup Pitch 2016 competition that takes place later in November during the Summit of iGaming, Malta (SiGMA) has an interesting and varied line-up of companies taking part.

It also includes some familiar names, particularly to GamCrowd’s readers, including Gamevy, which won the Pitch ICE competition in 2015, and BetUp/Commologic, which GamCrowd has written about recently after the company signed deals first with Unibet and then with the UK Football Pools.

However, there are also some new names taking part. One is Betters’ Rift (, an eSports-focused free-to-play betting site. The company was founded in Toulouse, France, and it hopes to gain revenues from advertising and from selling virtual goods.

The second new name is SkillCorner (, another French startup, this time coming from the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry startup incubator. The company’s idea is to develop artificial intelligence algorithms for professional sports teams, with the data gained then being sold to customers, including bookmakers, but also media companies.

Social betting is the theme of Nextwin ( an Italian-based operation which gives potential tipsters the opportunity to share their tips and win virtual currency. The company’s business is based on selling virtual goods to enlarge playing opportunities plus affiliate and white-label opportunities.

From social betting to betting platforms, our next competitor is UK-based Sportsbook Cloud (, which offers a fully-automated and technology-enabled odds compiling service. The company offers a multi-channel proposition across online, mobile and retail.

Digital marketing is the next stop on our startup tour. InboundMuse ( is a Malta-based digital marketing consultancy helping mature B2B companies get more customers online. Their digital marketing services focus on continuously improving B2B websites with the most powerful marketing and sales tools.

From Malta, we hop over to Poland and Sporticos ( which describes itself as a source for all the information a sports fan could need, including match previews, results, player comparisons and more.

SiGMA takes place between 16-19 November. The companies taking part in the Pitch process will all take their turn in front of the judges, including David Sargeant from iGaming Ideas, Carla Vella, the chief executive at Optimizer Invest and Ory Weihs, the chief executive of London-listed affiliate marketing company XL Media.
