The director of online gaming at the Hippodrome Casino, Leicester Square, says the new live casino deal it announced in late August will offer users the full experience of a London casino, not just that of a studio environment when it launches later this year.
Under the terms of the agreement, Evolution will not only provide the Hippodrome with its own live casino service from its studio in Riga, Estonia, it will also provide a ‘Live from the Hippodrome’ feed direct from Lola’s, the venue’s underground casino.
George Constantinou from the Hippodrome said the company had been looking for its online offering to give the users at home the full Hippodrome Casino gaming experience. “We’re a unique venue, now famous the world over for the way we do things,” he told GamCrowd News. “We like being first, and we like to innovate. This will give users a chance to play a real table with our very own dealers from within the trusted Hippodrome casino, live from Leicester Square.”
The Evolution Dual Play Roulette table on the gaming floor in Lola’s will allow online players on desktop, tablet and smartphone to play with players seated at the same Lola’s table. This dual convergence capability is enabled by a state-of-the-art live casino camera and sound studio installation around the actual table. The feed will also be made available to Evolution’s other licensees.
Constantinou said the product offered an extra layer of trust for Hippodrome online customers, particularly the less experienced. “I believe players can feel comfortable they can walk into a London casino and see the game in action,” he said. “I also think players who know the dealers will enjoy playing with that dealer online in the comfort of their home.”
Though Constantinou wouldn’t divulge any further details, he did suggest that further live casino innovations would be added to the product over time. “We are always moving forward and feel we are always leading the way for land base casinos in the UK, this is just another example of that. There’s always something exciting on the horizon.”
Looking more broadly at the online gambling space, Constantinou believed that the emergence of eSports will have long-lasting effect on the future shape of the product. “I think the quality of game graphics will improve and the game play itself will become more immersive over time,” he added. “The main differentiator within such a compacted and symmetrical industry can only really be the brand.
“We will continue to build the brand and the land-based casino offering, which will in turn transfer itself to our online offering.”
