Commologic was crowned winners of the inaugural SiGMA start up pitch held in Malta last week. The SiGMA igaming summit was attended by over 4000 people with over 150 watching the start-up pitch. Start-ups were given 3 minutes to pitch their ideas and then had to field questions from an esteemed line up of investors about their businesses. The action was fast and furious and all start-ups gave a good account of themselves through slick and professional presentations and answers.
Tamir Berler founder and CEO of Commologic said “We are very excited about winning the SiGMA startup pitch competition! It was a great opportunity for us to spread the word about our vision and products, as well as to gain exposure and recognition to an elite group of iGaming investors and top execs. It was also a good opportunity to change ideas and network with 8 other startups, that were carefully shortlisted by GamCrowd. The whole event was amazingly organised and we would love to see what SiGMA’17 will bring.”
Second placed Black Cow Technology’s commercial director Tony Plaskow said “we took part in the 2016 SIGMA StartUp event and found the whole experience overwhelmingly positive. Initial concerns around timing and focus were very quickly allayed with excellent pre-event communication and on-the-day smooth and professional execution.
The feedback from the event has been very positive both in general and for our company’s profile. I would strongly recommend it as a ‘must-do’ for any igaming start-up looking to advance their business”
Eman Pulis who organised SiGMA said "With such demand from both startups and investors, the timing was right for a startup pitch in Malta that was different in format. We took a calculated leap of faith with a new format of 3 minute presentations followed by 7 minutes of grilling per startup and it worked marvels! The investors loved it, the startups loved it, the audience loved it and we can't wait to build on this successful edition next SiGMA. Chapeau goes out to Chris North (GamCrowd), Aideen Shortt (RandomConsulting) and Ivan Filletti (GamingMalta).
Our very own Chris North who awarded first prize to Commologic was full of praise for the event format and success “I was initially sceptical about only giving 3 minutes to each start up to pitch but it really worked. I think the start-ups did a great job in getting their ideas across to our panel of investors. I’m looking forward to making 2017 bigger and better with Eman and his team”.
