DiscountIF continues to make waves in the sporting world after a successful conference at Soccerex 2016; the London based start-up was also selected as one of the finalists for this year’s Leaders Sports Tech Start-up competition, last week.

The Leaders Sports Tech Start-up Competition showcases start-up companies with cutting-edge technology who are set to transform the fan experience. Six of the world’s most innovative, game changing start-ups pitch their product or service in front of a live audience of 400 leading sports industry executives on stage at the Sport Business Summit.

CEO, Lewis Holland, headed over to Stamford Bridge for the Leaders Sports Tech Start-Up Competition, with only six start-ups being selected to travel to the Chelsea stadium and pitch their business in front of the judges.

The judges were made up of Peter Sorckoff, Chief Creative Officer, Executive Vice President and Brand & Innovation at Atlanta Hawks, David Gibbs, Digital Director at Sky Sports & Sky News, David Rose, Digital Consultant at Chelsea FC and David Abrutyn, Executive Vice President & Principal at Bruin Sports Capital.

Once there, the judges were required to select the top two start-ups, forcing them to go head-to-head for the final pitch. DiscountIF won the competition and was down to their ‘Great pitch, great energy, and great concept!’ as Deltatre, the main sponsor of the competition, put it.

The technology marketing tool created by DiscountIF enables football clubs, as well as brands and retailers, to link rewards to live events.

The rewards offered through DiscountIF’s technology can range from cashback, to discounts and voucher codes as well as fixed rewards, such as merchandise. Their offering gained a lot engagement at the Leaders Sports Tech Start-Up competition, with the recently launched start-up intriguing NFL, NBA and football representatives on how they can better their promotional offering to the clubs’ fan base.

The CEO of DiscountIF, Lewis Holland, said ‘sport club representatives were fascinated with the different kind of promotions they could present to their fans, and also with the way clubs’ sponsors can use our tool as a way of leveraging their sponsorship’.

Following their success in the Leaders Sports Tech Start-Up competition, DiscountIF will now receive support and advice from top executives from around the sporting world and from the competition partners Chelsea FC, Deltatre and Sky Sports.
