Sky Betting & Gaming, the $1bn tech unicorn with offices at 2 and 6 Wellington Place, has been announced as a premier sponsor of Leeds Digital Festival 2017. The fast-growth digital business operates the largest UK sports book in the betting and gaming sector and will host around six events during the week of 24th - 28th April.
Coding for Beginners sessions will offer 50 return to work parents or career switchers a half-day of free programming tuition in Ruby, while investors, analysts and digital commentators will be invited to a behind the scenes look at the technology driving mobile trading during a major sporting event.
Work with careers advisors and free career workshops will help to raise awareness of the latest tech roles including nodejs, PHP, lean enterprise architecture, mobile digital design and Ux and an open house for the week will offer drop in tours that reveal the company’s agile way of working.

Sky Betting & Gaming launched a new tech hub at number 6 Wellington Place just a few months ago, comprising two floors of squad rooms, training suites, a customer feedback room, an
in-house Sociable Folk café and even a roundabout, football pitch and mini putting green. The company is making space available to start ups or fledgling businesses seeking a central location for their own events for the duration of the festival.
Sky Betting & Gaming has achieved rapid growth in Leeds with revenues outpacing the market for the past five years. Headquartered in Leeds with a presence in Sheffield, London and Rome, the company now employs around 1000 people – 95% of them in Yorkshire.
