Yorkshire tech unicorn, Sky Betting & Gaming, has signed a new, five-year lease at the Electric Works in Sheffield, taking their presence in the city to 13,862 sqft.

Launched in 2015, the company’s Sheffield digital hub is home to the teams that design and build the platforms and technology behind the company’s international products including Sky Bet Italia and critical components of the UK-facing product stack.

This is the third time the company has extended its premises in Sheffield and the new agreement will create capacity for 160 people, encompassing the full balance of the first floor. Sky Betting & Gaming was advised by Knight Frank and CPP.

Simon Ince, Director of International Technology, said, “We initially looked to Sheffield to help us meet our talent needs in terms of building a diverse and highly skilled workforce and this investment evidences the success of our growth plans. Our core reasons for staying with The Electric Works are the keen pricing, the proximity to rail, bus and parking is unbeatable and to continue to build on our existing investment in infrastructure.
