Adtech is under the cosh. According to research from venture capital data researchers CB Insights, there was a 17 percent drop in the number of financing deals involving adtech firms in 2016 compared with the previous year and a 33 percent fall in the volume of funding. It’s a bleak picture – unless you are Google or Facebook which according to the most recent data accounted for over 75 percent of all recent growth in digital ad spend.
